Ever wondered what the political sway is of articles you read? If so, this is the tool for you! Our algorithm determines whether a particular news story was liked more by Democrats or Republicans.
This tool is brought to you by researchers at the University of Michigan School of Information. If you want to use the tool, we need a bit of information from you and your consent to participate in the research study on political balance in the news.
But wait, there's more! For the first thirty days of the study, everyone who uses our tool will automatically be entered into a daily raffle to win free Digg and Reddit merchandise, such as t-shirts, hats, umbrellas, and more! Raffles end Saturday, September 20th.
You'll install an Add-on for the Firefox web browser. You will still be able to use Digg and Reddit as you normally would, but when you visit either the "World News", "Politics" or "Top News" sections of Digg and Reddit the site may be annotated with information about political sway. For example, in part of the study, we will show you how frequently liberals and conservatives voted for each article. For another part of the study, we will show you a summary of the political balance of stories you've read.
